Snack SEO — Acceptable Use Policy #
Effective date: 18 August 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Snack SEO, operated by Snack Prompt Corp, 604 Canyon Creek Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76112, United States. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service, and capitalised terms have the meanings given there.
This AUP exists for three reasons: to keep the Service reliable for everyone, to keep us and our data providers in good standing with search engines and upstream licensors, and to keep you out of legal trouble. Breaching it can result in immediate suspension or termination under section 19 of the Terms of Service, without refund.

1. Who this applies to #
This AUP applies to you, to everyone who uses the Service through your account (including your Authorised Users, employees, contractors and end clients), and to anything you do with data, reports or output obtained from the Service. You are responsible for their compliance as if it were your own.
2. Domain and account authorisation #
You must:
- own, or hold express authorisation from the owner of, every domain, subdomain, URL, property, brand and listing you add to the Service;
- hold authorisation for every third-party account you connect (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile or otherwise), including where the account belongs to a client;
- remove a domain or disconnect an account promptly when your authorisation ends — for example, when a client relationship terminates;
- be able to evidence that authorisation to us on request.
You must not:
- add a domain you do not own or control in order to have it crawled, audited or monitored without the owner's permission;
- connect an account using credentials you obtained without authority, including a former client's or employer's credentials;
- represent to any third party that you have authority you do not have.
Analysing competitors is fine. Looking up a competitor's public rankings, backlinks, keywords or AI visibility using publicly available data is a normal and permitted SEO activity. What is not permitted is instructing our crawler to crawl a site you are not authorised to crawl, or connecting someone else's private accounts.
3. Crawling and site access #
You must:
- keep crawl rates at a level your infrastructure can sustain, and accept responsibility for the load if you raise them;
- respect
robots.txtand other access directives on any site you do not control; - only supply authentication credentials for a gated or staging environment that you are authorised to access.
You must not:
- configure the crawler to ignore
robots.txt, rate limits or other directives on a site you do not own; - attempt to bypass authentication, paywalls, CAPTCHAs, bot detection, IP blocking or any other access control;
- use the crawler to conduct a denial-of-service attack, a stress test of a third party's infrastructure, or any other action intended to degrade a third party's site;
- attempt to disguise, spoof or misrepresent our crawler's user-agent or origin;
- use the Service to harvest email addresses, phone numbers or other contact details for unsolicited outreach, list-building or resale.
4. Data use, resale and competing products #
You may:
- use data, metrics, reports and exports from the Service in your own and your clients' marketing work;
- include Service-generated reports and insights in deliverables you give to your own end clients;
- share individual charts, figures or findings with clients and colleagues in the ordinary course of business.
You must not:
- scrape, spider or use automated means to extract data from the Service, except through an API we expressly provide and within its documented limits;
- resell, redistribute, syndicate, publish or license bulk data obtained from the Service as a standalone dataset, feed or product;
- use data, metrics, scores, methodologies or AI output from the Service to build, populate, train, enrich, benchmark or evaluate any competing product, database, index or model;
- use the Service if you operate a competing SEO or AI-visibility platform, for the purpose of monitoring or benchmarking our functionality, availability or performance;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive our models, scoring methodologies or data structures;
- cache Third-Party Data retrieved through our API for longer than 30 days without our written consent;
- share your account credentials or API keys, or provide access to the Service to unaffiliated third parties, including through group buys, credential-sharing arrangements or buyers' clubs;
- remove or obscure attribution to us or to our upstream data providers where an export or report requires it.
5. AI features — acceptable and unacceptable use #
You must:
- have a qualified human review, fact-check and edit every AI Output before publishing it, sending it to a client or acting on it (Terms of Service section 6.4);
- verify factual claims, statistics, quotations and citations against primary sources — AI systems fabricate them convincingly;
- check AI Output for plagiarism, substantial similarity to existing published material, and third-party trademark use;
- add genuine human expertise and value before publication;
- comply with any disclosure obligations that apply to AI-assisted content in your jurisdiction or industry;
- comply with the usage policies of the underlying AI providers.
You must not use the AI features to:
- generate content at scale for the primary purpose of manipulating search rankings, with little or no human review or added value ("scaled content abuse");
- produce content that impersonates a real person, business or publication, or that is presented as written by a human expert when it is not, where that misrepresentation would mislead;
- generate misinformation, disinformation, fabricated news, fake reviews, fake testimonials or fabricated expert quotes;
- produce medical, legal, financial, tax or other regulated professional advice presented as authoritative or as a substitute for a qualified professional;
- support fully automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects for an individual, or any use that would constitute a high-risk AI system under the EU AI Act;
- generate content for law enforcement, migration, employment, credit, insurance or benefits eligibility determinations;
- generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that sexualises minors;
- generate malware, phishing content, or material designed to facilitate fraud or unauthorised access;
- attempt to extract system prompts, jailbreak the underlying models, or circumvent provider safety controls;
- use output as training, fine-tuning or evaluation data for any other machine-learning model.
6. Search engine manipulation and spam #
We build tools for legitimate SEO. We will not knowingly support manipulative practices that violate search engine spam policies or harm third parties.
You must not use the Service, or output from it, in connection with:
- Negative SEO — any attempt to harm a third party's rankings, including toxic link building aimed at a competitor, fake or fraudulent DMCA/spam reports, or content scraping designed to trigger duplicate-content penalties;
- Cloaking or deceptive redirects — showing search engines materially different content from what users see;
- Link schemes — buying or selling links that pass ranking signals, private blog networks, or automated link-exchange programmes, in violation of search engine policies;
- Doorway pages, scraped content or thin affiliate pages created primarily for search engines rather than users;
- Keyword stuffing, hidden text or hidden links;
- Fake reviews or review manipulation, including generating, soliciting or posting reviews that misrepresent genuine customer experience, or manipulating a Google Business Profile listing you do not control;
- Listing hijacking — claiming, editing or suppressing a business listing you are not authorised to manage;
- Unsolicited bulk email or messaging (spam), including outreach lists built from data obtained through the Service;
- Trademark or brand impersonation, including creating content designed to be mistaken for another brand.
We do not adjudicate search engine policy, and search engines make their own decisions. But where a use is plainly manipulative or harmful to a third party, we will act on it.
7. Content standards #
You must not upload to, generate with, store in, or transmit through the Service any material that:
- infringes or misappropriates any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, database right, publicity or privacy right;
- is defamatory, libellous, harassing, threatening, abusive, or that incites violence or hatred against any person or group;
- is obscene, or depicts or sexualises minors in any way;
- promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or the sale of illegal weapons or controlled substances;
- contains malware, viruses, worms, ransomware, or any code intended to damage or gain unauthorised access to a system;
- is fraudulent, deceptive, or designed to phish for credentials or payment details;
- violates any applicable export control, sanctions or anti-corruption law;
- you do not have the right to submit or that breaches a duty of confidence.
8. Platform integrity, security and fair use #
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, another tenant's data, our infrastructure, or any related system or network;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, except under a responsible-disclosure arrangement agreed with us in advance;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by overloading it, flooding it with requests, or launching a denial-of-service attack;
- circumvent rate limits, quotas, credit metering or plan restrictions, including by creating multiple accounts;
- automate the user interface, or use headless browsers or bots against the web application, in place of the API;
- resell or reassign a seat to a different individual in order to evade seat limits, or share a single login between people;
- misrepresent your identity, affiliation or the origin of your traffic;
- remove, disable or interfere with any usage-reporting or security feature.
Fair use. Even within your plan limits, we may throttle or queue activity that places a disproportionate load on the Service or on our upstream providers, and we will contact you if your usage pattern requires a different plan.
Responsible disclosure. If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to hello@snackseo.com rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue action against good-faith researchers who report promptly, avoid privacy violations and data destruction, and give us reasonable time to fix the issue before disclosure.
9. Privacy and personal data #
You must:
- have a lawful basis for any personal data you place in, or route through, the Service, and give the notices and obtain the consents your own privacy law requires;
- configure your workspaces, projects, roles and permissions so that your clients' data is properly separated and access is limited to those who need it;
- respond to data subject requests relating to your Client Data, using the Service's export and deletion functionality.
You must not:
- upload or place in a prompt any special-category data under Article 9 GDPR, criminal-conviction data, "sensitive personal information" under the CCPA/CPRA, payment-card data, government identifiers, or data subject to HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA or comparable regimes;
- use the Service to build profiles of identified individuals, to conduct surveillance, or to track a specific person;
- use data obtained through the Service to contact, dox, harass or discriminate against any individual;
- process personal data of children in the Service.
10. Agency and multi-client use #
If you serve multiple clients:
- you may include Service-generated reports and insights in your deliverables;
- you must hold the authorisations in section 2 for each client's domains and accounts;
- you must not present modelled estimates (search volume, traffic estimates, difficulty scores, forecasts, AI share-of-voice figures) to a client as measured fact — label them as estimates;
- you must not guarantee ranking, traffic or revenue outcomes to a client on the basis of our data, and you must not represent that Snack Prompt guarantees any outcome;
- you must not give clients direct access to the Service except through Authorised User seats you have purchased, or resell the Service without a written reseller agreement with us;
- you must not hold yourself out as Snack Prompt, or make commitments on our behalf;
- you must offboard a client's data promptly when the relationship ends.
11. Reporting a violation #
If you believe someone is using Snack SEO in breach of this AUP — for example, crawling your site without authorisation, using your Google account without permission, or generating abusive content — please report it to hello@snackseo.com with:
- what you observed, and when;
- the domain, URL, account or crawler activity concerned;
- any evidence you can share (log excerpts showing our user-agent and originating IP addresses are especially helpful);
- your contact details and your relationship to the affected property.
We investigate every credible report. Where a report concerns unauthorised crawling of a domain, we may suspend crawling of that domain immediately while we investigate.
To block our crawler at any time, you can disallow our published user-agent in your robots.txt, or block our documented IP ranges. We will honour a robots.txt disallow without needing you to contact us.
12. How we enforce this policy #
Depending on the severity, the harm caused and your history, we may:
- contact you to ask you to fix the issue;
- throttle or rate-limit the offending activity;
- disable a specific feature, domain or crawl;
- suspend your account or part of it, with or without prior notice where the risk is immediate;
- terminate your account under section 19.3 of the Terms of Service, without refund;
- remove or disable content that breaches this AUP;
- notify and cooperate with affected third parties, data providers, platforms, regulators or law enforcement where legally required or appropriate.
We aim to give notice and an opportunity to fix the problem before suspension, but we may act immediately where there is a risk to the Service, to another customer, to a third party, or to our relationships with data providers and platforms. Suspension or termination for a breach of this AUP does not entitle you to a refund, and you remain liable for fees accrued and for your indemnity obligations under section 18 of the Terms of Service.
If you believe we have acted in error, email hello@snackseo.com and we will review the decision. A person, not an automated system, makes the final call on any suspension or termination that materially affects you.
13. Changes to this policy #
We may update this AUP as the Service, the law, and search-engine and AI-provider policies evolve. The current version is always published at https://snackseo.com/legal/acceptable-use with its effective date at the top. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and/or in-app notice, except where a change is required urgently to address an unlawful or harmful use, in which case it takes effect immediately.
